Tour de Farm NJ – 2017 – Fast Approaching!

September’s Tour de Farm’s in New Jersey are approaching quickly! 

The Tour de Farm NJ is hosting 2 bicycling events this year: Sussex County (9/3) and Warren County (9/23), to promote NJ farms and farmers. A  bicycling ticket includes a locally-sourced breakfast, a TDF t-shirt (for the first 400 registrants), participant wristbands, which includes small tastings, snacks and water, and bathrooms along the cycling route, free day-of parking, route signage marking every turn, cue sheets, and SAG wagon support. 

There are 3 different route options on each day, ranging from 13 – 64 miles. Please check the website for more details and maps. 

For an additional cost and registration, we are also offering Farm to Fork Meals.

Student Success Program

 

Tom Merrow, one of Onset’s owners, participated in a Student Success Program Career Day today in Paterson, New Jersey.

DSC_2355The Student Success Program consists of non-paid, executive volunteers. They offer economically-challenged students the opportunity to discuss their hopes and dreams and to help them plan for their success.

The Student Success Program offers:

  • The Student Career Day Program (in schools)
  • The Student Business Tour Program (students visit corporations)
  • The Life Skills Program 

They are currently looking for:

  • Professionals from all fields with a passion to share and inspire.
  • More corporations to participate in the Student Business Tour Program.

SCCC Business Event

Tom Merrow and Sara Morrison, of Onset Worldwide, had the opportunity to present at a local community college about entrepreneurship and starting and growing a business. They discussed the history of Onset, as well as offered suggestions and advice to the audience.

Community FoodBank of New Jersey

Onset Worldwide had the opportunity to volunteer at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside, NJ, which is a “powerful change agent that fills the emptiness caused by hunger with the basic human essentials that people need to survive.”.
